In December 2006 Denver was hit by a big blizzard. 35mph winds blowing the snow sideways. In our area, it was 3 feet of snow with 4-5 foot drifts. We were snowed in for 2 days. Eight days later, we had another 13" of snow which blocked us in for another day.

Our friend Mary rented a cabin in the mountain town of Silverthorne for her 40th birthday. There was a lake and boat there, but no paddles, just rope and an anchor. So, we improvised with a throw-and-tow method of moving through the water. We brought our fishing poles out with us but didn't catch anything.
